Ignatian Retreat “Orando como Ignacio” at the Parish of St. Anne, Rock Hill, South Carolina

By Sindy Collazo

(This retreat is based on the book Ignatius of Loyola, Never Alone, by José María Rodríguez Olaizola, SJ.)

Recently, more than 40 members of the local Hispanic community gathered at the Parish of St. Anne in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This was a collaboration with the Knights of Columbus from St. Anne Parish of the Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri.

The retreat, designed by the Ministerio Hispano Ignaciano of the Office of Ignatian Spirituality, aimed to invite participants to embrace the call to “Find God in All Things.”

The day was led by Sindy Collazo, Associate Director of Hispanic Ministries at OIS. On Friday, March 7, nine members of the community were trained in the method of Spiritual Conversation Groups, with the support of Juan Nieto, from the Knights of Columbus.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in four moments of prayer and reflection, both individually and in groups, to learn about and share the fundamental aspects of the life of St. Ignatius of Loyola and his spiritual experience.
