OIS Hispanic Ministry Hosts Lenten Retreat for Charismatic Catholic Community in Winston Salem, North Carolina

The Office of Ignatian Spirituality's Hispanic Ministry led a day-long, Lenten retreat for a charismatic Catholic community in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The retreat, conducted in Spanish, was held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Our Lady of Mercy Parish. More than 200 people, both adults and children, participated to learn more about Ignatian spirituality and spend the day in prayer.

For many in this community centered around charismatic forms of prayer and praise, the experience of Ignatian prayer was a new one. Several participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to focus on listening to God.

The OIS Hispanic Ministry is grateful to Alex Moreira and the Our Lady of Mercy community for the invitation to spend the day with them sharing some of the graces of Ignatian spirituality.
