The times in which we live can be characterized by many things. One of them is conflict.
We don’t have to look far to find it. Conflict is prevalent in social, political, cultural and religious realms. It’s present in far too many homes and families. We are inundated with news of nations embroiled in conflict. And then there are the conflicts brewing within each of us that cause us worry and woe.
This coming Lent, you are invited to this two-hour virtual contemplative program which asks us to consider the Call of Christ the King put forth in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in light of these challenging times. Together we will explore how we are to follow Christ the King in a complex world on a mission “to overcome evil with good, to turn hatred aside with love, to conquer all the forces of death… whatever obstacles there are that block the sharing of life between God and humankind.” (SE 95)
This program will explore:
What values of the kingdom are needed in our times?
How are we called to kindle these kingdom values in our lives and in the life of our world?
What does it mean to “labor for Christ” as spiritual directors and recognize Christ laboring with us, especially in areas of conflict and division?
This virtual program will be recorded and all registered participants will receive a link to the recording.
