Recently, a group of Ignatian spiritual directors gathered virtually for a spacious, contemplative Advent evening. Led by author and retreat leader Christine Marie Eberle, the group savored the spaciousness of prayer and poetry, poignant imagery, music and contemplation. Read more.

As we begin the season of Advent, we reflect on the opportunity presented in the Responsorial Psalm from the First Sunday of Advent, “Lord, make us turn to you.” We invite you to "reflect and take advantage" (“reflectir y sacar provecho”) of the season of Advent. Our office has prepared magnificent possibilities to turn to the Lord for these weeks.

I pray that this invitation, very Ignatian of course, is part of our prayer and conversation.

Recently, a group of young adults gathered at Eastern Point Retreat House for a Jesuit Connections’ Sacred Pause Retreat. The group contemplated with a reflective view of the past year using an Ignatian examen. Read now!

More than eighty spiritual directors completed Ignatian training and formation programs in the USA Jesuit East province this year, including graduates of three new programs featured here. All programs embrace the spirit of the Universal Apostolic Preference of “Showing the Way to God through the Spiritual Exercises and Discernment.” Congratulations!

This past October, participants from three Jesuit parishes gathered in New York City to take part in the first sessions of the Escuela de Espiritualidad Ignaciana (School of Ignatian Spirituality). This is a program offered in Spanish through the Office of Ignatian Spirituality. Read more!

As we celebrate the month of All Saints and All Souls, we also turn our attention to the Holy Land, and the ongoing war and conflict that persists in the Middle East.

During this time of violence, it is important to remember that we are not just part of one Ignatian family, but also part of a global community. The Society of Jesus has had a presence in both Israel and Palestine for many years now.

A large group of people gathered recently online for Session 2 of our four-part series entitled, Spiritual Exercises Reclaimed: Uncovering Liberating Possibilities for Women. They explored how the contents and dynamics of the Second Week of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius affect women’s experience.

We are working hard to offer those who feel more comfortable in Spanish a space to learn about Ignatian spirituality and interact with our team, mainly Sindy Collazo and Zandra Schiemann. A large group of people eager to learn about the liberating power that is at the heart of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius gathered online for the session.
