This four-part workshop series was designed for spiritual directors who companion others in the Exercises, or who hope to do so in the future. It was facilitated by Damian Zynda, Th.D., and focused on the dynamic of grace as operative in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
We encourage viewers to review two previous OIS workshops led by Damian Zynda in advance of this one:
Week I
Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021
Early on his conversion, Ignatius could not see in himself what God saw in him. He was blind. This session helps us recognize and acknowledge sources of personal, institutional, and systemic blindness that prevents us from seeing as God sees.

Week II
Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021
Through more frequent encounters with Christ, Ignatius slowly began to see what God saw. The Exercises of the Second Week are structured to lead us to a greater awareness of the impact of intimacy with Christ. This session will look closely at how an identity focused on Christ forms us for mission.

Week III
Saturday, March 12, 2022
Ignatius saw the cost of love, up close and personal. He chose, as did Jesus, to enter fully into his Paschal Event that transformed and freed him. This session focuses on the “scales that fell from his eyes” (in reference to Paul’s conversion on the Road to Damascus). Special attention is given to the seldom used Rules for Eating Ignatius places in Week III.

Week IV
Saturday, May 7, 2022
Having encountered the Resurrected One, Ignatius saw everything new in Christ. This session will examine the dynamic of conversion in the Resurrection and how the Contemplation of the Love of God leads to the active and passive dynamics of the magis.
