Employment Status: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Reports to: Associate Director, Office of Ignatian Spirituality
The Office of Ignatian Spirituality (OIS) is a division of the USA Northeast and Maryland Provinces of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits). OIS partners with others to promote Ignatian spirituality for mission, and is collaborating with Tabor Retreat Center in Oceanside, NY to serve the people of Long Island and surrounding area.
Summary of Position
This is a part-time position reporting to the Associate Director of OIS. The person in this position will be responsible for organizing, scheduling, advertising, and attending Ignatian spirituality programs conducted at Tabor Retreat Center in Oceanside NY. The ideal candidate will have superior skills in management and communications, as well as some knowledge of Ignatian spirituality, the Spiritual Exercises, and the mission of the Jesuits.
Recruit and schedule presenters, retreat directors and spiritual directors for Ignatian programs conducted at Tabor Retreat Center.
Schedule retreats, days of reflection, talks, and other Ignatian programs in collaboration with the staffs of Tabor Retreat Center and St. Anthony Parish in Oceanside, NY.
Advertise and promote events through online portals, church bulletins, local newspapers, flyers, etc.
Set up event space, ensuring that both presenters and attendees have their needs met.
Collect all monies, in coordination with the OIS Operations Manager.
Send inquiries/requests for payment for those who have not yet made full payment.
Process events’ expenses and stipends for presenters.
Maintain a calendar of Ignatian programming at Tabor Retreat Center.
Respond to all phone calls, emails, and written correspondence in a timely manner.
Track and order printed materials (brochures, etc.) and office supplies.
Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
1-3 years of office management and administrative experience, preferably in a retreat center environment.
Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Outstanding customer service and hospitality skills.
Attention to detail –a high level of accuracy and effective organizational and budgeting skills.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office, email communications, and database software.
Ability to travel as needed and flexibility with evening and weekend events.
Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

Jan. 6, 2017 - On Dec. 17, the Hispanic Ministry of the Office of Ignatian Spirituality (OIS) held the fifth and final session of the School of Ignatian Spirituality (the "Escuela") in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. Over the past nine months, 26 Hispanic women and men have immersed themselves in Ignatian forms of prayer, the Ignatian way of proceeding, the Spiritual Exercises, and the Ignatian understanding of mission.
